Central Michigan Contracting is the true “family business”. Working in
the industry for
40 years and always working hard for somebody else her
father wanted his own
company, his own dream. In 2000, Deena decided to
“take the risk” and
start Central Michigan Contracting. Knowing her
father, Dee, and her brother, Bo, whom had also worked in the industry
11 years prior, were fully capable of operating their own
company all she
had to do was get it started, and that she did!
Since that first project for the Isabella County Drain Commission CMC
has grown steadily every year thereafter. What started out with 3
employees has grown to be 7 operators and
2 laborers strong!
CMC is now a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), which makes them
eligible for many DBE contracts.
are also a pre-qualified contractor
for the Michigan Department of Transportation in demolition, grading,
structures, aggregate construction, land clearing and grubbing,

The company was built on honesty, hard work and dedication. With every
